About me: Jessica Fasbender
I grew up in Luxembourg, where I was introduced to numerous sports activities from a very young age and it was not long after that I discovered my passion for movement and exercise. On top of my academic studies, I played in a basketball team and went to a dance school in Luxembourg.
In 2004, I came to London to study at the Royal Academy of Dance. While I was studying, I started doing Pilates and was amazed by its effects. Pilates helped to improve my strength, my fitness, my movement skills and increased my body awareness. While completing my education in ballet at Roehampton University, I did a Classical Pilates Teacher Training Program at a renowned Pilates Studio in London. I have worked with many experienced Pilates Trainers and am constantly broadening my knowledge through continuing education programmes and workshops and have recently received an award for outstanding performance on the MSc Health Rehabilitation and Exercise at Buckinghamshire New University. I have conducted research on the effect of Pilates on arterial stiffness and trunk flexibility. To view an summary of the research, please click on the following link.
I have been enjoying teaching ballet to children () and from 2008, I have been teaching Pilates with great enthusiasm in a number of Pilates Studios in London. I am very thrilled that I can now offer you the opportunity to come and share this experience with me at Ux Pilates Studio.
